Kia ora e te whānau! Massive welcome to 2025! We are so excited to have such a sick team this year taking on our mahi. This is my 4th year at UC, studying Law and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science & International Relations. I have been involved in the clubs scene for a while now and think the value they add to our community is invaluable.
My involvement in Lads began at the end of 2022 when I was turned down for a role on the Lads’ exec :(. I applied again in 2023 and became one of two Community Events Leads for 2024. I loved my time in this role and thoroughly enjoyed putting on events like Life Skills, Party Waves, and Wellness Wednesday’s. This year as one of the Presidents I am keen to solidify Lads’ place as a safe space for all members of our community. You don’t have to be conventionally “one of the boys”, to be a lad, and part of our club.
The statistics we are seeing in the mens mental health space are tough reading, and have big real life consequences in our community. Lads’ has a unique opportunity to do our part to get better outcomes for the people we care heaps about. If you need any support from a mental health & wellbeing specialist, please first go and see student care in the Undercroft at UC, or access our support fund through this website.
See you around!
We love connecting with our community. Whether you have a question, would like to support what we do or just want to know a bit more; feel free to flick us through a message and we’d be happy to chat!
