Kia ora, I'm Zac Hemmings from the Coromandel. Currently, I'm in my third year of Civil Engineering, marking my fourth year out of school.
This year, I'm taking on the role of Flat Chats Lead, which involves visiting flats, sharing food, and initiating positive conversations among flatmates. I'm excited about the opportunity to positively influence people's flatting experiences and create an environment where they feel comfortable communicating with their flatmates when needed.
Being part of Lads Without Labels is an obvious choice for me. The club provides valuable support and promotes men's mental health on campus. Attending Lads events not only allows me to connect with others but also helps me acquire new life skills. Personally, I'm a big fan of Party Waves.
I've chosen Flat Chats because I believe it's a direct way to encourage guys at uni to engage in conversations with their flatmates about their well-being. Though it may seem daunting at first, I believe it's crucial for navigating the challenges of flatting.
This is my first year on the Lads Without Labels team. Advocating for mental health has always been important to me, and I see Lads Without Labels as a platform where I can make the change I want to see. I'm confident in the positive impact Lads has on university students, and I'm eager to see what our team can accomplish this year.
We love connecting with our community. Whether you have a question, would like to support what we do or just want to know a bit more; feel free to flick us through a message and we’d be happy to chat!
