Kia Ora! My name is Daniel, I’m in my third year studying for a Bachelor of Science in Physics and Mathematics.

Being raised on a small farm near Leeston south of Christchurch I’m the biggest fan of being outdoors, especially in the mountains and even more so during the winter. I love to put myself out there, to go on adventures and to try new things! For 2024 I am one of the Major Events Leads for Lads, which means I’ll be making sure fantastic events like Run72 are bigger and better for 2024!

In my eyes, mental health is certainly one of the biggest issues we have in the University community today! It’s a multifaceted, complex and constantly evolving issue. I have always wanted to be in a position where I can make a positive impact on people’s lives, whether it’s through everyday kindness or providing help in a time of need. Lads is the perfect platform for me to achieve that goal, by spreading awareness and providing support in a meaningful way for an issue that’s affecting so many of us. I truly cannot wait to work with such an incredible and talented team to provide support, spread awareness and break the stigma around mental health.
